Bill and his young parents were dropped off in California by his maternal grandfather during the depths of the Great Depression. His mother soon died in child birth, along with the child, and Bill’s father hitch hiked back to Oklahoma with his one-year-old son. Bill was then raised by his great uncle and aunt on a share-crop farm. While home on leave, he met and later married Donna June Solomon on December 24, 1953, and raised four children. Bill loved everything outdoor having grown up on a farm, to especially include hunting, fishing and sports. He was an accomplished fast pitch softball pitcher and played for many company teams, including Phillips and Conoco oil. He also coached numerous little league and American Legion baseball teams and football including those his boys were involved with. The highlight for much of the family was when they moved to Alaska in the early 1970’s and experienced so much that the state had to off er. After discharge from the Navy Bill obtained his education in computer science in the early days of mainframe computing and worked for Phillips and Conoco oil companies and later managed several large regional data processing centers to include National Trailer Convoy, National Bank of Tulsa and Alaska Data Systems. In later years he worked in sales. Bill came to Christ in midlife, but is certainly with his Lord and Savior now and wishes that you too get to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior before it is too late.
