Bobby Gene Bohannon, 73, longtime Cushing/Stroud area resident passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Drumright Nursing Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. Funeral Services will be held
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022.
Bobby was born in Cushing on April 19, 1948, to proud parents L.R. and Mildred (Coy) Bohannon. He was raised in the Cushing/Stroud area, graduating from Stroud High School. He married Karen Price and moved to Texas where he worked for General Dynamics. Afterwards they moved back to Cushing, and he joined the National Guard. In 1969, Bobby’s daughter Michelle was born. Bobby would go on to work for the City of Cushing, the Fire Department, Kerr McGee Refinery, and as a welder working on the pipeline. He was a lifelong member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Cushing.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; brothers in law, Howard McFarland and Ron Adkins; Sister Laverla Nichols and husband Junior; and nephew, Gerry Bruggen.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle and husband Doug Kimberlin (Sulphur); grandchildren, Trent and wife Taylor Kimberlin (Slidell, LA), and Whitney Kimberlin (Sulphur); life companion of over 30 years, Flora Wikel (Cushing); Flora’s children that he loved as his own, Rhonda Wilson and husband Jimmy, Naomi Jean McKinney and husband Rick, Raymond Wikel and life Lizlea, Renee Wikel and Jason; siblings, Louise McFarland (Kingfisher), Ruann and husband Leonard Clinesmith (Eufaula); nieces and nephews, Judy and husband Alan Smith, Stephen and wife Sonia Nichols, Linda and husband Nate Majors, Cindy Bruggen, Scott and wife Belinda Adkins, and Kim Adkins; as well as many extended family and friends.
