Charlie Fisher

Born in Cushing, Oklahoma to Lyal and Ola Fisher. Charlie grew up on an oil lease in Oilton, OK that his father and grandfather worked for. Charlie attended Oilton Public Schools and graduated in 1967. He played football, baseball, and basketball all through school. Once graduating from Oilton, he attended Connors State College for three semesters before attending Draughon’s School of Business. After graduating, he then went on to work for B & B Trucking. Later Charlie worked in the oil field as a pumper then moved on to work with his son Brian at Nordam as a Lab Technician.

On May 31, 1969, Charlie and Glenda were married in Drumright, Oklahoma. To this marriage, three sons were born, Tony Fisher, Brian Fisher, and Jim Fisher. Charlie was very dedicated to his kids and was involved in every facet of their lives, including little league baseball and raising show animals. While the sons were young Charlie spent his time mentoring and teaching them how to be good men and work hard and be responsible for providing for our own. Charlie taught his boys to weld, farm, and appreciate what life gives you. He didn’t stop with his own children but affected many throughout the years of all ages.

Charlie was very involved with the local Mannford 4-H and FFA and was their booster club president for many years. He also was a member of the Creek County Fair Board for many years while the boys were showing animals in FFA. One of Charlie’s favorite pastimes was raising, and racing pigeons and you could find him down at his loft awaiting patiently for all of his birds to fly home from a race on many weekends.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Lyal and Ola Fisher, his brother Don Fisher and wife Aquilla, and one sister Peggy Casto. Also, one beloved granddaughter Lauren Fay Fisher.
