May 15, 1971 - May 19, 2021
Dan Lee Poole, a longtime resident of Oilton, passed peacefully from this world on May 19, 2021 with his wife, Rhonda, by his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Oklahoma.
Recently celebrating his 50th birthday, Dan was born May 15th, 1971 in Drumright, OK to Danny and Sylvia (Madewell) Poole. He was raised in the area of Drumright, Bristow, Oilton and Yale and graduated in 1989 from Yale High School. Dan entered the workforce upon graduation to help provide for his family. On August 31st, 1991, Dan married the love of his life, Rhonda Graven, and they began their own adventure through the years. He cared for Rhonda as her health declined and devoted his life to caring for her. This ultimately led to him following his passion and starting his own business that he successfully ran for over 21 years, Double D Pallets.
In December 1993, as extremely proud parents, Dan and Rhonda welcomed their fi rst son into the world, Jordan Lee. The blessings continued and in June 1996, they welcomed their second son, Gerad Ray. Dan was a devoted husband and father. His family came fi rst in all his actions, second only to his faith and love in God. He dedicated his life to his family and spent a vast majority of time encouraging his boys to follow their passion: baseball.
Dan travelled all over the state for games, volunteered to coach their teams and was a true role model for many, including those outside his immediate family. He focused on things that mattered most in life, loved his wife fi ercely with the purest of love and care, and was always up for an adventure. He spent countless hours with his family camping, coon hunting, training dogs, deer hunting, etc.
An avid Sooners fan, Dan always had the football game on at home in the fall. You could truly say the outdoors was the place he enjoyed the most. Dan and Rhonda shared many “fi rsts” together-- traveling to the ocean and Las Vegas-- and he never let a moment pass by where a memory could be made. He created and shared memories and moments that will be cherished forever.
He loved to write Rhonda love letters; he made sure every anniversary was a celebration of something diff erent. Dan was always surprising Rhonda with gifts at the most random times—gift giving and quality time truly being his love languages. Dan had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at home, opening his heart to so many. He loved to share his passions in life with those closest to him.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Danny Poole, and father-in-law, Ron Graven.
Dan is survived by his wife, Rhonda, of the home; sons Jordan and Aerial Poole of Oilton, Gerad Poole and Hope Phillips, grandson Gus Phillips of Oilton. Granddaughter Ava Newcity of Drumright. His mother, Sylvia Jean Poole of Oilton and mother-in-law, Jean Brandon of Oilton.
