Donald Gene Harless was born August 14, 1943, to Nellie (Baker) and William Jennings Harless in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life October 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Don graduated from Cushing High School in 1961 and later received an associate’s degree from Ventura Junior College. He was a boxer on the school team. Don’s first job in California was at a record company. He then worked in the California oilfield. Texaco oil company and his coworkers became a big influence in his life. He was so happy when he received his requested transfer back to Oklahoma. He worked for Texaco in Kingfisher OK and later worked for Diamond oil company. Don lived in Midwest City for over 30 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, restoring classic cars and talking shop with his friends. While his children were growing up, Don enjoyed giving them motorcycles and go carts. There was a small racetrack in the empty lot next door. During his older age he enjoyed the company of his cats and spending the weekend at the local flea market. He also had a deep sense of faith, becoming a Christian around the age of 50. He regularly prayed for his family and country. Don is survived by his children, Billy Harless, and Tammy Harless; grandchildren, Randi Jackson, Meggie Chapman, Sam Martin, and Joe Martin; great grandchildren, Laney Chapman, Kyler Chapman, Justus Martin, Rosie Martin, Graham Martin, Luka Martin and Gracin Martin; He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Rhonda Novacek.
