Earl Raymond Berger • October 2, 1932 - November 26, 2021

Earl Raymond Berger passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at his home with his son Tony by his side. Praise God for the redeemed life of Earl.Earl was born October 2, 1932, in Nelogany, Oklahoma to Ralph Tullis Berger and Sarah Ruby (Roach) Berger. He became a Christian as a boy while attending Victory Baptist Church in Pershing, OK.

Earl grew up in Nelogany, Hominy & Cushing, where he graduated in 1951. He was married to his high school sweetheart Norma Lee (Cleveland) Berger for 67 years, 9 months and 5 days, faithfully caring for her until she passed in May 2020.

Earl was a faithful member of many Baptist Churches over the years, including FBC Hutchinson,KS; Henderson Hills BC, Edmond, OK; Second Baptist Church, Okmulgee, OK; and returning to FBC Cushing for the last 40+ years of his life. He served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon,and usher throughout the years.

Earl loved sports and was a good athlete, lettering in football and basketball at Cushing High School and being named Allstate in football his junior year. He played softball and basketball in church leagues and bowled weekly for 40+ years. He loved the Oklahoma University Sooners and was a faithful fan his entire life.

Earl went to work for Cities Service pipeline company as a young man. He spent his adult life working in the oil and gas industry for various companies, other than a few years in the plumbingindustry in the mid 1970’s. Earl is survived by his children,

Earl is survived by his children, Tony Berger, Kim Bradley (Terry), Ross Berger (Gina) and Kelly Berger (Maggi); beloved grandchildren Brian, Kami, Christy, Courtney, Chris, Michelle, Kyla, Jay, Jeff , Daniel, and Garrett. Blessed with great-grandchildren, Kellen, Kyler, Kortni, Jace, Kyle, Ella, Hailey, Braelyn, Hailee, Emma, Madison, Austin, Maci, Chance, Isaac, Lillian, Grayson, Haley, Sophia, Makala, Robinson, Oliver, Sloan, and another Berger on the way. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Boyd Whipkey; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Tullis Berger, Jr; two sisters, Dorothy Clarkson, and her husband Robert; Helen Murray and her husband Gerald; in-laws Art & Jean Gerfen, and Shirley Whipkey.Visitation for Earl will be held Monday, Nov 29, 2020, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 3:00pm, Tuesday Nov 30 at First Baptist Church. Interment will be at Euchee Valley Memorial Park (Hwy 33 & N. Euchee Valley Rd). The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Cushing or to your church of choice. Services are under the direction of Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
