Earl Wayne Coke

Earl Wayne Coke, longtime Yale resident, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, in Stillwater at the age of 83 years.

The son of the late Cleo Coke and Pansy Boblit Coke, Earl was born on February 5, 1939 in Pawnee and was raised in the Quay area, graduating from Quay High School with the class of 1957. Earl was united in marriage to Pamela K Luke on November 11, 1961 in Yale.

Earl attended Conners State College and East Central University, receiving his bachelor’s in teaching. He had the opportunity to teach in Marshall, Redrock, Yale and Cleveland; teaching high school and junior high math. He also had the opportunity to coach boys and girls basketball.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church Olive. He enjoyed bobcat hunting, deer hunting, fishing and especially enjoyed taking his grandsons fishing.

Earl is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Pam, of the home; son, Randall Coke of Yale; daughter, April Lyn Ince and husband, Adam, of Florida; son-in-law, Ty Hockett of Cushing; grandchildren, Dalton Hockett, Gage Hockett, Tyler Hockett, Archer Ince and Amorie Ince; two sisters, Bonnie Graves and Elaine Hammock of Owasso; brother, Bob Coke and wife, Debbie, of Owasso; two sisters-in-law, Susan Moore of Yale and Kathy Wells of Georgia; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Lynn Hockett; two brothers, LeRoy Coke and Paul Coke and one brother-in-law, Gary Gibson.

Graveside services will be Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lawson Cemetery with Reverend George Brock, III and Reverend Steve Lopp, officiating. Viewing will be held on Sunday, from 2-5, at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home, Cushing.
