Eddie Hathorn • April 1, 1944 - September 13, 2021

Eddie Hathorn, a longtime resident of Tulsa, OK received his golden wings on Monday, September 13, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Paul Baptist Church, Meridian, Oklahoma. Rev. Eugene Brooks, Rev. Elvin Mack, and Bishop Melvin Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Meridian, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Eddie was born on April 1, 1944 in Meridian, Oklahoma to the late Wilbur James and Ora (Mack) Hathorn. He grew up and attended school in Meridian. Eddie enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1967 and retired in March of 1988 as a E-7 Sergeant. While in the service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device 60, Army Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Bar, Army Achievement Medal, Noncommissioned officer processing development ribbon. After retiring from the service, he began driving a truck for the next sixteen years. Eddie married Pamela Brannon on September 7, 2002 at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Eddie enjoyed horse back riding, dominos, dancing, telling jokes, and fishing. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tulsa, OK. Above all, Eddie loved the Lord.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ora Hathorn, sisters Virginia Hathorn, Marguerite Hathorn and brother William Hathorn.

He leaves to mourn his wife Pamela Hathorn of the home, daughter Angela Hathorn Sampson and husband Matthew (Sammy) Sr. of Killeen, TX, stepson Maurice Smith Jr. of Tulsa, OK, brother Joe Hathorn and sister Betty Hathorn of Oklahoma City, OK, grandchildren Shaniqua (Shae) Sampson, Matthew Sampson Jr. and Kyante Smith, great grandchildren Aniya Sampson, Jordan Hood and Kyla Smith, nieces and nephews Patricia Joseph, Debra James, Stacia Hathorn, Veronica Hathorn, Jackie Hathorn, Paul Timmons, Marsha K. Timmons, Don Timmons and Stan Timmons. , special cousins Booker Black and Barbara K. Young, close friend Isiah Cooper, and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
