Miss Elma J Fox passed peacefully at her home with her beautiful granddaughters by her side on August 15, 2024 at the age of 91.
Daughter of the late Ray H. Floyd and Feryl E. (Butts) Floyd, Elma was born on August 4, 1933 in Beaver OK.
She was very active in high school playing basketball; a sport she dearly loved, served as drum majorette for the Beaver High School band and was named Homecoming Queen in 1950.
Elma was united in marriage to Alfred E. Reece on December 7, 1950. This union blessed her with 3 handsome sons; Mike, Gary and Steve.
On January 4, 1973, she married the love of her life, Leland J. Fox. This union blessed her with 2 additional sons; Dewayne and Darrin. Leland and Elma made Cushing their home in 1976 where she worked as a bookkeeper for many years.
Elma loved to waterski and did so until the age of 65. After moving to Cushing, she learned the game of golf and became extremely active playing Bridge and Rummikub giving her the opportunity to make lifelong friends. She spent evenings and weekends watching OU & OSU sports, loved watching OKC Thunder basketball and game shows.
Elma is preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Feryl Floyd; sister, Melba Phelps; husband, Leland J. Fox; son, Mike Reece; step-son, Dwayne Fox; and grandsons, Ben Reece and Brad Kokendoffer.
She is survived by son, Gary Reece; son Steve Reece & wife Barby; step-son, Darrin Fox & wife Beverly; granddaughter, Kendra Kokendoffer; granddaughter Brandi Johnson & husband Lance; grandson, Dylan Reece; grandson, Bracken Reece; grandson Austin Fox & wife Ashley; grandson Tucker Fox & wife Brittany; many many great & great great grandchildren and dear friends.
Miss Elma touched so many lives and those of all ages. We will forever cherish her expansive heart full of love, beautiful smile, infectious laugh, her listening ear and warm hugs.
Please join us as we celebrate this life of this wonderful lady on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11am at First United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 23rd from 4-7pm at Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
