Body

Elton Dale Willard was born June 26, 1960 in Jal, New Mexico to parents Dewey and Joyce Willard. He was raised there until the age of 16 then moved to Yale, Oklahoma where he graduated from Yale High School in 1978.

Elton married Brenda Ledgerwood, the love of his life on October 26, 1979. They put down roots in Cushing, Oklahoma and started their family. He was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church where he served in several roles. He also served his community and beyond through his roles with the City of Cushing and his love for youth and others.

Elton enjoyed umpiring, golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was quite the handyman and enjoyed helping others with a servant’s heart. He had a true passion for sports, he enjoyed calling play by play with friends and especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play which he did quite often. Elton was a true family man who deeply cherished his relationships with family and friends. He loved his God and was true to his Faith.

Elton passed to his heavenly home on December 20, 2020 to reunite with his mother Joyce, and father, Dewey as well as his father-in-law, William “Bill” Ledgerwood and sister-in-law Sharon Kay Lane.

He is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; daughter Melissa and husband Kyle Vance of Pawnee; son Brent and wife Sarah of Edmond; grandchildren, Braden, Cooper, and Hudson; sisters, Carla Quisenberry and Vickie Sanchez; mother-in-law, Verna Ledgerwood as well as numerous extended family members and a host of great friends.

Due to our current situation in caring for Mom, we must remain healthy to properly rehabilitate her. Thus, a private family graveside will be held at this time. We know Dad impacted many and as soon as the current circumstances allow, we will hold a Celebration of Life Service in his honor at a later date.
