F. Don Foresee joined our Lord in heaven on January 15, 2021. Don was born in Shawnee, OK on June 23, 1931. His family moved to Cushing, OK in 1936, where he began fi rst grade at Wilson school. Don attended Cushing Public Schools and graduated High School in 1949. During High School he served on the Student Council. Don was known as “Moonshine” Foresee since his popularity of being in the theatrical Play Moonshine. He then attended Oklahoma State University and obtained his Business Degree. While at OSU, he served as President of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Don was also President of the Cowpunchers Club. He joined the ROTC Pershing Rifl es Organization and was selected as their Five-State Headquarters Commanding Offi cer. In 1953, Don was honored as a Blue Key Member which was OSU’s top 50 students in leadership and scholarship. He married his sweetheart, Ruth Ellen Vernon from Medford, OK, August 3, 1952. She was also attending OSU, and obtained her Education Degree. After graduation, he reported to the Air Force and was stationed at San Antonio, TX; Cheyenne, WY and Amarillo, TX where he completed his tour with the military. In 1956, Don went to work at the Foresee Chevrolet Dealership as a co-owner with his father. Don opened an insurance agency that he continued to work after they sold the dealership in 1983. During his career, he also served on the Cushing School Board for two 5-year terms and twice as president. He was actively involved in building the present Cushing High School. He was a long-time member of the Cushing Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Don attended the First Baptist Church beginning in 1936, and found his faith, becoming a Christian. Most of all, he loved teaching the fourth grade Sunday School. Don had scripts for the children to play act the Bible stories along with props for each part. He and the children enjoyed the way he taught Sunday School for 25 years. Don was very proud of his children. They are Cheri Foresee Eubank who spent her career as a CPA for Love’s Travel Stops. Dan Foresee spent his career as an engineer, PHD with the FBI. Rebecca Foresee Towery spent her career as an engineer with the FAA. Don and Ruth Foresee’s best friends were J. Lyall and Mary Louise Smith. They camped and vacationed together for over 35 years. Preceding him in death are his parents F.W. and Bessie Mae Foresee. Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth E. Foresee; daughter Cheryl Ann Eubank and husband Robert and his child, Christine Marie Eubank; son, F. Dan Foresee, his children, F. Dustin Foresee and wife Amanda, and their daughter Lauren Ava Foresee, John Austin Foresee, Tara Kaylee Lund and her daughter, Clarrisa Lea Metcalf; daughter, Rebecca Ruth Towery, her son Kenneth Dane Towery and wife, Prisca with their children, Freya Renee and Kenneth Duke Towery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel.
