Franklin Lee Roy Chapman • September 16, 1954 - April 9, 2021

Franklin Lee Roy Chapman (Frank) passed from this life on Friday April 9, 2021 in his home near Agra, OK surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 13, 2021 at the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Parkland, OK. Bro, Devin Greenfield and Bro. David Thompson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Frank was born to Roy and Nelda Moore Chapman on September 16, 1954 in Grand Junction, CO. He grew up in Harrisburg, OR, graduating from Harrisburg Union High School in 1973. After graduation Frank joined the United States Marine Corps. where he proudly served his country for 6 years. While stationed in Japan, serving as Marine Corps Military Police, he came to Oklahoma on leave to visit his family in 1975. During that visit he met the love of his life, Tawanna McEntire and a year later married on October 1, 1976. They made their first home in Anaheim, CA as he finished his tour of duty with the Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge in 1977 they moved to Chandler, OK. He began his civilian life working for National Standard in Stillwater, OK. Frank missed being in service and pursued a career in Law Enforcement. Frank and Tawanna moved to Cushing, OK where he worked as a police dispatcher for the City of Cushing. There he met Yale police chief Floyd (Hoppy) Hopkins. Chief Hopkins hired Frank as a patrolman for the City of Yale. Frank and his family moved to Yale, OK in 1978. Frank served on the Yale Police Force from 1978 to 1982. Realizing how very difficult it was to support a family of four on a patrolman’s salary he found employment with MerCruiser in Stillwater, OK and worked for them from 1985 to 2000. In 2002, Frank and Tawanna moved to Parkland, OK. In 2005, Frank joined the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff. After 16 years, he retired on January 31, 2021. In December 2020 he was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award from Lincoln County Law Enforcement. Frank loved his law enforcement family and serving Lincoln County.

Frank was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on May 19, 1964 by Bro. Dale Moore in Halsey, OR.

Frank leaves behind his wife of 44 years Tawanna Chapman; one daughter, Amanda Fisher and husband Rodney Fisher of DeWitt, AR; one son, Kevin Chapman of Agra, OK. Five grandchildren, Madison Chapman, Fisher Chapman, Griffin Chapman, Lynsie Fisher and Kaylie Fisher; his mother, Nelda Chapman Wright of Grand Junction, CO; two brothers, Dwayne Chapman and wife Jennifer of Hasting, NE; Joseph Chapman and wife Angie of Montrose, CO; many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by father, Roy Chapman; two sisters, Lawana Chapman and Donna Molloy.
