Gearld Wayne Pendergraff

Gearld Wayne Pendergraff, of Agra, passed away Monday evening, August 26, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 67 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing OK and were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Wes McFarland Center (516 Lincoln St, Agra, OK), with burial following at the Parkland Cemetery.

Gearld was born on Friday, April 19, 1957, to Charles and Barbara (Kearns) Pendergraff in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The family moved to Tulsa, Bristow, and Cushing, before settling in Agra in 1968. While attending Agra High School, Gearld worked at Hudson Refinery in Cushing before graduating in 1975. The summer of 1976, while hauling hay for Ernest and Bernice Parker in Parkland, Gearld met their great niece, Cindy Winterscheid. They were married on September 17, 1977. Together, Gearld and Cindy had three children who were raised in Agra. In 1980, Gearld began his 28-year career as an Agra volunteer firefighter. He began his career with Sinclair Oil Refinery in Tulsa in 1986; recently retired from HF Sinclair Refinery in Tulsa. Gearld retired as Chief of the fire department in November of 2008. Gearld also spent 20 years on the Agra Public School Board. Gearld loved to work on his farm and was well known for his gardening, especially his tomatoes, hot peppers, and numerus other vegetables.

Gearld is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cindy (Winterscheid) Pendergraff of the home; two sons Bryan Pendergraff and wife Melissa of Agra, OK, Justin Pendergraff and wife Hannah of Agra, OK; one daughter Michele (Pendergraff ) Brown of Boerne, TX; six grandchildren Hailey Johnston and husband Patrick, Ryan Pendergraff and wife Marissa, Rylie Pendergraff, Brooke Pendergraff, Kaden Pendergraff, Lillie Pendergraff ; one great-grandchild Parker Johnston; brother Ron Pendergraff and wife Stacy of Agra, OK, sister Anita Starling and husband Bob of Laverne, OK, brother Gary Pendergraff and wife Dorothy of Tulsa, OK; uncle Bob Pendergraff of Dewey, OK; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and of course his very special dog “Jasper”.

Gearld is preceded in death by his parents.
