Gerald Dean Allie

Gerald Dean Allie was born at home on July 21, 1925 in Goodell, Iowa to Claude Allie and Flossie Agnes Francomb – moving to Laurens, Iowa in time to start school in the Laurens school system from where he graduated in 1943.

He attended college in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University.

Following graduation, with the declaration of war, Gerald enlisted in the Army serving in the 743rd Railway Operating Battalion in the European Theater and receiving two Purple Hearts for his service. After discharge from the service, he met and married Bonnie Louise (Palm) Allie, who preceded him in death. Born to this marriage were there children, Jayn Ann (Allie) Carson, wife of Doug Carson, Jon Edward Allie, husband of Evguenia (Mateeva) Allie and Jean Louise (Allie) Wojtkiewicz, wife of Daniel Wojtkiewicz. Also surviving him are 7 grandchildren and 16 great grand-children.

Gerald was a resident of Covenant Living at Inverness at the time of his death.

Interment with full military honors will be held on January 24th at 1:30 pm in the Omaha National Cemetery in Nebraska.
