Grace Edith McEntire

Grace Edith McEntire, 84, longtime Agra resident passed peacefully from this life on April 27, 2022, in Chandler surrounded by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. She was born June 23, 1937, in Parkland, Oklahoma to proud parents George and Hazel Wright. She was raised there and attended school at Parkland through the 8th grade. She grew up helping her mother sew and can vegetables as her father was away in military. Grace was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at Parkland. At the age of 13, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Otho McEntire. Their union was blessed with five children, Bobby, Evon, Tawanna, LaReva, and Brenda. In the late 60’s the family owned and ran the grocery store in Parkland. They ran the store until the late 70’s when they shut it down and she went to work at Walmart until retiring in 2001, after 20 years. The store was a lot of work, and everyone was expected to help; especially during July when the Parkland Church Meetings brought everyone in for a cold drink or snack. She was a loving mother and homemaker teaching the girls all the necessary skills to run a household.

Grace made every event special from holidays to birthdays; each one was celebrated. Growing up the family didn’t have a lot but she made sure they never knew it. From making new dresses for the girls to cooking treats for the classes at school, they never went without because of her hard work and dedication. She even hand sewn their prom dresses, and no one could tell they weren’t professionally made because of her skilled hands. Grace was famous for her pies; people would pay top dollar for them at community auctions. She was a mother to many, never hesitating to love others as her own. Grace cared for many relatives that began to need help late in their lives. She also cooked for many years at the Agra Senior Citizen’s Center. She is preceded in death by her
