Ms. Gwendolen Fay “Gwen” Freeman, 65, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. Born September 15, 1956 in Oklahoma City, OK, she was the daughter of William Arthur “Bill” and Thelma Fay Rupert Freeman. Gwen was a loving homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Thelma Freeman; two brothers: Sherman Freeman and Ronnie Freeman; one sister, Sharon Covington; and one grandson, Brett Pruitt.
Survivors include her fi ancé, Mike Menges of Elsberry, MO; and her children: Nancy Mahurin and her husband, Bobby, of Elsberry, Shane Pruitt and his wife, Jaimie, of Winfi eld, MO, Michael Menges of Illinois, John Menges and his wife, Beth, of Illinois and Jim Menges and his wife, Jennifer, also of Illinois. Gwen also leaves eight grandchildren: Ian, Luke and Maison Pruitt, Gracy, Jaide and Brody Mahurin, and Ben and Alex Menges; one brother, Bill Freeman, Jr. of Texas; one sister, Gaylene Lockart and her husband, Charles, of Globe, AZ; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
