James Gordon Godfrey passed away January 15, 2021 in Tulsa.

James was born in Williams, Oklahoma on February 28, 1935 to Chas and Ara (Miller) Godfrey. He moved several times with his family before landing in Cushing.

He went to school in Cushing graduating from High School in 1953. He attended Oklahoma State University from 1953 to 1957. He worked several jobs but mainly at Midland Refi nery until it closed.

He married Marilyn Blanton on July 3, 1958. Two children came from this union-Ron and Tina.

He was a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Chickasaw Tribe of Oklahoma. James enjoyed skiing, repelling, deer hunting and most of all, woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son-in-law, Kenny Harris. He is survived by his son, Ron; daughter, Tina; his sister, Charlette Perryman and husband Jerry; Grandchildren Eli and wife Rosie, Howard, David and wife Kerri, and Gram. Greatgrandchildren are Elijah, Payton, Lexi, Jaxson and J.J.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing and will be offi ciated by Reverend Jerry Perryman
