Janie Beth Glasby was born on October 21, 1959, to the late William C. and Mary Jane (Greenwood) Hockemeyer in Cushing, Oklahoma.
At a young age, the family moved to Cordell, Oklahoma where she began her education. Later in life she moved to Okmulgee, Edmond then finally settling on the family farm in Avery, Oklahoma. Janie graduated from Agra High School in 1977.
In 1978, Janie began working at Rob Container. In 1992, she went to work at Yale HeadStart until 1998. She then substituted at Yale Public Schools for twelve years. She also worked at the Yale Public Library for two years until she retired to take care of her husband, Paul Glasby.
Meeting the love of her life, Paul, in 1979 and they married on February 19, 1983. To this union, three children were born. They moved to Quay in 1987 and raised their family there, until moving to Yale sometime later. Janie was a cub scout leader and a member of the Cushing VFW Post 1118 Auxiliary.
Janie is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by her children William Glasby, Mary Glasby, and Carrie Jo Reese and husband Justin, Shelly Glasby, Paul Sisco and wife Holly, Shane Sisco and wife Crystal, Justin Doty and wife Marcee. Grandchildren Jerome David Glasby, Justin Reese, Max Ray Reese, Cale Rusco, Mckenna Glasby, Alex Turner, Gage Doty; one brother George Hockemeyer and wife Cheryl, along with other family members and friends.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Yale. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Lawson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
