John Fuson Walters, Jr. was born on December 11, 1942, to John Walters, Sr. and Joan Marcella (Strong) Walters in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life on January 25, 2024, at the age of 81 years.
John was raised in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School with the class of 1958. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he owned and operated Walter’s Furniture Company in Cushing.
John was united in marriage to Joan Williams on June 6, 1970. He enjoyed scuba diving, shooting, leatherwork and collecting lamps.
Survivors include his wife, Joan, of the Chandler; sons, James Gibson McKenney and Patrick Lee McKenney; grandsons, Gene Mitchell McKenney and Patrick McKenney; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Carl McKenney, Jr. and his sister, Carolyn Robinson.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Chapel of the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
