Larry Lee Dawes was born August 3rd, 1948, to Jackie and Melva Dawes. He departed this life on June 1, 2022, in Yale, Oklahoma.
Larry graduated High School in Yale, Oklahoma in 1966. He worked for Southwestern Bell/ AT&T as a lineman for 30 years. He was a proud and faithful member and deacon of the Council Valley Baptist Church.
He loved the outdoors and activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and shooting guns. Another thing Larry enjoyed was to stop and visit with anyone who would listen.
He is survived by his wife Shelly Dawes; four children, Ronald Dawes and wife Heather, Dana Dawes, Kathy White and husband Chris, Karry Alfaro and husband Aaron; a sister, Betty Sue Howe; twelve grandchildren, Jacob Dawes and wife Bailey, Jacquelyn Dawes, James Nueway and wife Taylor, Nick Nueway, Haley Larson, Rachel Larson, Toni Larson, Lori Kardokus and husband Keaton, Landen White, Justin Sheets, and Lily Sheets; seven greatgrandchildren Kinzleigh, Gracie, Gwen, Kennedy, Amelia, Estella, and Hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Braiden Dawes, sister Barbara Carol and daughter in law Janis Dawes.
Viewing will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, in the Matherly-Davis Chapel from the hours of 4-7 PM. A church service will be held 2 PM Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Council Valley Baptist Church in Yale Oklahoma.
