Lenora Rawdon • January 4, 1954 - February 16, 2022

Lenora Rawdon was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She went to be with her heavenly father on February 16, 2022, at the age of 68.

Lenora was born to Charles and Tula Ripley on January 4, 1954, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After Lenora graduated from Ripley High School in 1972, she went on to study Missions at Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1974.

Having a lifelong passion for serving the Lord, Lenora then spent time being a missionary and spreading God’s word to the people of the Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago.

In December 1975, Lenora met Larry at a Christmas Party at her family home. They were married on July 4, 1976, a special date that Lenora believed Larry, a history teacher, could never forget and knew she would always have fireworks on her anniversary!

She was a devoted wife to Larry and supported his career and made a house a home wherever life took them. She was a loving and caring mother to their children. She taught her children to be strong, independent, and kind people.

Constantly serving and passionate about her faith, Lenora was always volunteering at the church, teaching Sunday school, children’s choir, and serving her church community.

She enjoyed substitute teaching, writing for the local newspaper, baking treats for the neighbors, and helping her children with whatever they needed and sewing. Lenora poured love into the garments she made for others.

Lenora was predeceased by her father Charles Ripley, and her mother, Tula Ripley-Perel. She is survived by her husband, Larry Rawdon; daughter, Lori Lysobey and granddaughter, Charlotte; son, Joe Rawdon and wife Anna, along with their three children Ava, Reece, and Hutch Rawdon; brother, Dan Ripley and family; sister, Teresa Petersen and family; and her sister, Susan Hartle and family.

Lenora was a fiercely strong woman – holding fast to her faith in God and those she loved. She will always be immensely treasured.
