Maleta Sue Plowman, a beacon of love and passion in her community, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in her hometown of Cushing, Oklahoma, at the age of 74. Born on December 1, 1950, to Howard and Charlotte Stallworth, Maleta was a lifelong resident of Cushing, where she also completed her education, graduating from Cushing High School.
Maleta’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to start her own successful retail business in Drumright, which became a testament to her hard work and dedication. She was known for her thoughtful and loving nature, not only to her family and friends but also to the animals she adored. Maleta found joy in simple pleasures, such as watching and feeding the squirrels, and caring for her beloved baby dogs, Lucy Lu and Rusty. Her favorite color, purple, was a vibrant representation of her personality.
Maleta’s life was enriched by her husband of 18 years, Dan Acosta, with whom she cherished spending time, especially watching movies. She was the proud grandmother to Jodi and Nikki, three great-grand babies, and a dear aunt to Laurita Syler and her husband, Will. Maleta’s memory will be treasured and kept alive by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, K.W. Keeling, her parents, Howard and Charlotte Stallworth, and her siblings, Ruthella Nichols, Charles Stallworth, Charlene Williams, and Marylou Ward. Maleta will be remembered as a passionate, loving, and thoughtful woman, whose presence brought warmth and kindness to every life she touched. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
