Mary Jo Hollis • October 29, 1929 - November 10, 2021

Mary Jo Hollis passed from this life to go to heaven to be with Jesus on November 10th, 2021 at her home with family by her side.

She was born on October 29th, 1929, to Jim and Maudie Honeycutt in Meeker, OK. She was married to Joe Hollis on August 9th, 1947. They previously lived in Shawnee and Davenport before moving to Cushing.

They grew large gardens and sold vegetables. Mary Jo sold Avon for about 50 years and was still sending in orders for people. She won many awards and trips with Avon and enjoyed getting to see her customers. She also loved getting to attend church services and sing the old hymns. When she met a new person, the fi rst thing she always asked them was “did they go to church”.

She is survived by her son, Larry Hollis, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Tommy Wilson, grandchildren Rhonda and Terrence Yazel, Jeff and Amy Ivey and Alisha Crossno. Great grandchildren Alexis Yazel, Dylan Yazel, Abbey Ivey, Jonathan Ivey, David Ballard and Erika Ballard and great great grandchild Jemma Smith along with many wonderful neighbors that she was blessed with that are just like family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her 9 brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 17th at Park Place Baptist Church. Burial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 17th at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16th at Palmer-Marler Funeral Home from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m.
