Mason Eugene Maitlen, aged 43, a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, in Cushing, Oklahoma. Born on June 29, 1981, in Oklahoma City, OK, Mason grew up in a loving family where he was a beacon of kindness and friendship to all who knew him.
Mason attended Cushing High School while refining his skills at Central Technology Center in Drumright, Oklahoma. He was a gifted craftsman whose hands were rarely still, as he found his calling in carpentry, welding, machining, and working as a mechanic. His work not only showed his remarkable talent but also his dedication to his trade. Mason’s professional life was marked by the same warmth and reliability that he brought to every aspect of his existence.
He was a man of many interests, but nothing could surpass the love and pride he had for his family. Mason’s world revolved around his wife, Anna Maitlen, and their two sons, Draeson and Kyson. He was a son to Randy and Mary Maitlen, a brother to Cash Maitlen and Leslie (Maitlen) Hall, and a cherished uncle to several nieces, nephews, and a cousin to many. Mason’s role as a husband, father, son, brother, and uncle was the one he cherished most, and he approached it with the same care and attention to detail that he did his professional work.
Mason had a variety of interests that included woodworking, metalworking, and operating heavy equipment. He could often be found out in the shop welding, grinding, or creating something special. His love for heavy equipment, ATV riding, and, most of all, his sons, were central to his life. A lot of Mason’s time was spent teaching and cherishing his boys, ensuring that his legacy lives on through them.
Those who knew Mason would describe him as kind-hearted, friendly, and incredibly handy. His knack for fixing and building was not just a skill but a way to express his love and support for others. His home and heart were always open, and his presence was a source of comfort and happiness to his family and friends.
As we say goodbye to Mason, we carry forward the memories and the lessons he has left with us. His presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who loved him, and his influence will continue to guide us. Mason’s story does not end with his passing but lives on in the legacy of love, hard work, and compassion he has left behind.
We take comfort in knowing that Mason lived his life to the fullest and that his journey was filled with joy, laughter, and the richness of good company. As we honor his memory, we are reminded that the world was a better place with him in it, and although he has left us, the imprint he made remains everlasting.
We bid farewell to Mason Eugene Maitlen, not with sorrow but with gratitude for the time shared, the lessons learned, and the love given. His memory will be treasured and kept alive through the stories told, the work admired, and the family he adored. Mason’s journey on earth may have concluded, but the impact of his life will resonate for generations to come.
