Monte Lee Fincher, 66, of Marlow, Oklahoma, transitioned peacefully on July 10, 2025, in his hometown. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway- Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services. A time of visitation and celebration of life will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Monte was born March 23, 1959, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Monte Delano and Betty Gene Fincher. He graduated from Marlow High School and remained a lifelong resident of Stephens County.
On April 9, 1982, Monte married Annie Bennett, the mother of his two sons. Though they later separated, they remained close friends throughout his life.
Monte was a retired chemical mixologist from Plainsman Technology. He enjoyed spending his free time being outdoors—especially fishing with family, friends, and his grandchildren. He was also an avid horseshoe player and tomahawk and axe-throwing competitor. A skilled craftsman, Monte created a variety of handmade tools and crafts, always generous in sharing his work. His craftsmanship was only surpassed by the love he shared with those dear to him.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Monte is survived by his sons, Jeremy Lee Fincher and his life partner, Jessica Buckley, of Cushing; and Joshua Fincher and wife, Courtney, of Marlow; his grandchildren, Tegan Fincher, Landon Fincher, and Laniey Fincher; and one granddaughter expected in September. He is also survived by his former wife, Annie Bennett of Duncan; his brother, Tony Fincher of Marlow; his sister, Sharon Kay Johnson and husband, Brian, of Wilson; nephews Justin Fincher and Casey Fincher; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Monte and Betty Fincher; his brother, James Fincher; his sister-in-law, Terrie Fincher; and his niece, Misty Eggers.
Monte will be remembered for his love of family, his selfless heart, and the everyday moments that became lasting memories. His presence in the lives of those who loved him was a gift, and his legacy will continue in the stories shared, the smiles remembered, and the love he gave so freely.
