Nellie was born in Russellville, Arkansas on November 9, 1942 to the late Hubert Eugene Hendricks & Edna Mable (Fuller) Hendricks. She passed from this life surrounded by her family on January 25, 2025 at the age of 82 years, 2 months, & 16 days. Nellie was raised & educated in Nowata & was a 1960 graduate of Nowata High School. While still in school she met Gary Davis from Bartlesville & their lifelong romance began. They were married on August 12, 1960 & to this union 2 children were born; Suzan Annette & Michael Allen. In 1963 they moved to Tulsa. After the kids began school, Nellie worked for McGee, Roush, & Shelton CPA’s for several years. She was very active with her daughter’s cheerleading squads at both Eli Whitney & Nathan Hale Schools. Her involvement continued with her son’s activities with the Tulsa Boy Singers where she would later assume the role of Executive Coordinator. In 1980, Gary’s career in the Army Corps of Engineers moved them to Edmond where they became very active in the Edmond Chapter International Order of DeMolay, a masonic sponsored youth organization. For 15+ years she held the position of Director of Sweethearts for the State DeMolay Association. Her commitment, dedication, & support was evident by the many achievements and awards she received during her years of service. In the summer of 1983, the family relocated to Owasso and in 1986 she opened Nellie’s Flowers & later a bridal shop. Gary’s involvement in numerous state & national masonic organizations required them to travel all over the United States. Their paths crossed with a countless number of people which resulted in many lifelong friendships that will always be treasured. Nellie’s devotion and dedication to the many masonic organizations she was involved in, either directly or indirectly, will be missed. In 1996 they sold the flower shop & moved to Drumright to help their son with his business & family. She began helping in the office at the funeral home which turned into a 15+ year unexpected commitment and career. During that time, she also took on the role as Executive Secretary of the Oklahoma State Florist Association. Nellie’s strong work ethic and personality was a natural fit for dealing with the public so these positions were a perfect fit. She was also very active with her membership in the First United Methodist Church & Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Her personal and professional life was filled with many other achievements too numerous to mention. For those that knew her & loved her, she will be greatly missed.
