Norman Leo Rubenstein

Norman was born to Harry & Lilly Rubenstein on January 26, 1940, in Kansas City, Ks. They later moved to Cushing, Oklahoma where he was raised & eventually married Marilyn McKinney with whom he had 3 daughters. Norman graduated business school and went on to become a very successful businessman in many different ventures. He worked & took over his father’s family business Cushing Scrap & Metal with his brother Gene upon his fathers passing. Then moved on to open American Welding Supply, McKinney & Rubenstein Energy, and for many years after that was very well known and successful in his antiquing ventures and his Antique Mall in Cushing. Norman never worked a day doing something he didn’t love & enjoy. He was famous for saying if you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life. And he lived by that. After his marriage with his daughter’s mother, he spent the next few years being a devoted single parent raising his youngest daughter. Norman enjoyed spending time with his brother Gene & his wife Marilyn, collecting old cars & corvettes, antiques, traveling, & in his early days riding Harley Davidsons. He always had a love for the women in his life & his very widespread group of friends. Norman is deeply missed by many. Especially for his quirky jokes & entertainment he provided when we were in his presence. He was always good for being a clown & making you laugh. Norman took his last breath December 1, 2021 before moving on to be with his Almighty Father. Anyone wanting to pay respects can do so at Euchee Valley Cemetery. The family requests that instead of cards or flowers the smallest of donation to Alzheimer’s Research & Prevention Foundation is preferred. As Norman & his older brother Gene both passed with this disease. We pray with more research that hopefully one day no family will have to endure the wraths of that disease.

Norman is proceeded in death by his Father Harry Rubenstein, Mother Lilly Rubenstein, brothers Harry Rubenstein & Gene Rubenstein. He is survived by his daughters Brenda Conner of Kirksville, Missouri, Diane Arnold of Phoenix Arizona & Julie Rubenstein of Oklahoma City, Ok. And his grandchildren Nichole, Ashley, Jordan, Justin, Lagen & Lucy & his nephews Mark Rubenstein of Louisville Kentucky & Jay Rubenstein of California.
