Patsie Hudgins McLaughlin, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the age of 93 years.
The daughter of the late Charley Hudgins and Laura Alice Morgan Hudgins, Patsie was born in a tent in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. She came to the Council Valley community as a small child and was educated in the Council Valley grade school and Norfolk high school.
She was united in marriage to Roland McLaughlin on August 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2000. She had worked several places, including First National Bank and Midland Co-op. Her and her husband Roland (Mac) constructed Cushing’s first bowling alley in the late 50’s. In 2006, she was married to Leon Reiley and Leon preceded her in death in 2011.
Patsie will be remembered by her family as a very strong woman, always with a smile and kind word, no matter what was going on. Life threw her lots of curves, but she always acted like a lady, but yet never thought of herself as above anyone or anything. She was always helping someone and loved to spoil her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by a daughter, the apple of her eye, Kay Lyn McLaughlin; two brothers, Gerald “J.D.” Hudgins and his wife Margaret and Jack Hudgins and his wife Iris; two grandchildren, Justin and Austin White; a sister-in-law Bea Hudgins; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Arbie Donald Hudgins, Dennis Cleo Hudgins, Bennie O. Hudgins and Jerry “J.R.” Hudgins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Forrest officiating.
Burial will be in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
