Robert Hiram Ford

Robert Hiram Ford, also known as Model T and Edsel. He passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Drumright, Oklahoma. Robert was born Northwest of Agra, Oklahoma to W.H. (Bill) Ford and Lorene Medley Ford on January 20, 1936. He graduated from Agra High School in 1955. After graduation he did farming and ranching work. He married Lorene Baker and to this union they had two children, daughter, Roberta Arens, and son, William Ford. He spent from 1960 to 1962 in the United States Army. After returning home from the Army he worked in the oilfield, he drove a truck for Wheatley Heavy Equipment, worked for Sabre Drilling, hauled rigs for TRG and Grace Drilling Equipment. Robert hauled sand and gravel for Tommy Bruce and then worked for RG Farms and Oakland Drilling Company. Before retiring he worked for Trawicks Ranch.

He met and married Juanita G. Melton on December 30, 1977. She had three children, CW, Gene, and Juanita.

Robert is survived by his son, William Ford, stepchildren, CW Melton and wife Connie, Gene Melton, and Nita Hendricks. Sister, Jeanene Lange. Grandchildren, Zachary Hornbeck, Bryan Taylor and wife Sarah, Heather Taylor, Bailey Haddock and husband Kameron, Johnathan Hendricks and wife Addison, Jeremy Melton and wife Emily, and Brent Melton and wife Jennifer. 12 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded death by his first wife Lorene Baker. One daughter, Roberta Arens. His parents, wife, Gerldean Ford, and three sisters, Willa Jean McEntire, Eloise Silcox, and Mardell Lawhead. His funeral service was held this past Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing.
