Sereita Frisbie Cooper was born October 7, 1934, to James Albert and Leta Lurrah Frisbie in Richardville, Oklahoma. She departed this life January 30, 2024 at the age of 89.
Sereita Frisbie and James Cooper were united in marriage February 16, 1951 in Cushing, Oklahoma. From this union were born three children, Sheila, Chris, and Curtis. They enjoyed sixty-six years together before his passing September 10, 2017.
After her children began school she worked as a cook at Deep Rock School and then left there to work at OSU where she retired. Sereita was a faithful member of the Cushing Free Will Baptist Church. Her faith in Jesus Christ was exemplified in her family. It was important for her family to know that serving the Lord came first. She served on the benevolence committee and worked many Bible schools.
She enjoyed crocheting, canning, camping, cooking, shopping, and gardening. James and Sereita enjoyed traveling as well, especially going to bluegrass festivals. Above all, she loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Sheila Harmon and husband Steve, Chris Cooper and wife Debbie, Curtis Cooper and wife Janice; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Harmon, Shawn Harmon, Chrissy Whitten and husband Michael, Jarrod Cooper and wife Kristen, Kaylee Berryhill and husband Brad, Jayson Cooper, Nathan Cooper and wife Jordan; six great grandchildren, Cali Cooper, Caleb Cooper, Piper Whitten, Daphne Whitten, Harley Jo Berryhill, and Cooper Berryhill. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great granddaughter, Lilian Whitten, six siblings, Herman Frisbie, Imogene Spurgeon, Kenneth Frisbie, Geneita Spurgeon, and Jim “Bear” Frisbie.
Funeral services were at 10:00AM, Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Cushing Free Will Baptist Church and interment followed at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
