Sharon Kay Smith

Sharon Kay Smith was born February 24, 1945, to Tom and Cecile (Huff) Ramsey in Yale, Oklahoma. She joined her husband in their heavenly home on her birthday, February 24, 2024, surrounded by her kids and grandkids at the age of 79 years. Kay graduated from Quay High School in 1963. On May 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Smith, from this union were born three children, Sharon, Patricia, and Joe II. Joe preceded her in death on December 29, 2023.

Kay was a bookkeeper for their family oilwell cementing company for many years until she retired to be with her grandkids. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events.

Survivors include three children, Sharon Kerr, Patricia Niccum and husband J.B., Joe Smith, II and wife Kim; grandchildren, Clayton Kerr and wife Taylor, Ashley Thomas and husband Josh, Jessica Campbell and husband Graham, Taylor Smith, Konnor Lanker and husband Caleb, Kara Sanders, Kourtney Wilkerson, Kristopher Niccum, and wife Amanda; two great grandchildren, Casey Thomas, and Hallie Kay Lanker– and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by siblings, Nell Binkley, Sue Raper and Jimmy Ramsey.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in the Free Will Baptist Church.

Services are under the direction of Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
