Veta Faye Thompson, longtime Cushing resident passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family on February 5, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Veta was born February 13, 1944 to proud parents Robert and Leta (Stevens) Greenfi eld in Shamrock, Oklahoma. She grew up in Drumright, graduating high school with the Class of 1962. Veta was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Shamrock on March 10, 1962 by Brother Harold Case and remained a devoted member throughout her entire life. She lived most of her life in the Cushing community and worked for many years as a computer operator at Graves CPA offi ces.

Veta was a devoted mother to her two daughters and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren. She loved scrapbooking and bargain shopping. She had a very strong spirit and always seemed to face hardships with grace and was never one to complain.

Veta is preceded in death by two infant grandsons, Eldon Richard and Nicholas Lee Randolph; her parents, Robert and Leta; sister, Bonnie Hood and husband Tommy; brother-in-law, Doyle Castor; and brother, Lonnie Greenfi eld.

She is survived by her daughters, Krista McGaughy and husband Dravin of Elma, WA, and Angela Randolph and husband Jimmy of Stillwater, OK; sister, Donna Castor of Vici; sister-in-law Patti Greenfi eld of Mannford, OK; brother, Gary Greenfi eld and wife Linda of Henryetta, OK; grandchildren, Kynan McGaughy and wife Bobby of Elma, WA, Brek McGaughy and wife Jenna of Olympia, WA, Tahni McGaughy of Tacoma, WA, Brooke Taylor and husband Wes of Cushing, OK, Brandy Waring and husband Kurtis of Wichita, KS, and Brennan and Brystol Randolph of Stillwater, OK; great grandchild Zadrian Mc- Gaughy; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Cushing, 1321 E. Ash Street. Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery however there will be no formal graveside services due to the weather.
