William Edward VanBuskirk was born February 25, 1932, to Daniel and Pearl (Osborne) VanBuskirk in Pritchett, Colorado in a dugout. He departed this life January 19, 2022, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Ripley, Oklahoma in 1950 then attended Oklahoma State University until he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
On July 19, 1952, William Edward VanBuskirk and Alpha L. “Tooter” Adkison. They enjoyed 65 years together before her passing in 2017. After serving four years in the military, he went to work for Midland refi nery where he remained until his retirement in 1982.
He enjoyed fi shing, hunting, games and playing tricks on family and friends. He was ornery with a great smile. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by sister in laws, Glenna VanBuskirk, Trellis VanBuskirk and Penny VanBuskirk. Numerous nieces and nephews. One grandchild and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alpha “Tooter” VanBuskirk, son, Darrell, daughter, Dee Ann, four siblings, Betty, Robert, Bert, and Burl.
A Graveside service will be held January 25, 2022, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma at 2pm. Services are under direction of Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
