A somber ending to an unbelievable season

Rusty Morgan walked onto the field at Chad Richison stadium to accept the silver ball, preparing to give one of the hardest speeches any coach will ever have to give. His team had just fallen short of a state championship.

Tigers headed to state

“I’ve never seen a group that’s been on a mission like this one,” said Cushing Tiger Head Coach Rusty Morgan, right after his undefeated (13-0) Tigers destroyed the Elk City Elks, 56-14 and secured their spot in the Class 4A football championship for the first time in nine years.

Cushing dominates Blanchard, moves on to semi-finals

The Cushing Tigers are still gold ball chasin’. The Tigers defeated Blanchard 42-7 on Friday after dominating the Lions in the second and third quarters. It was adversity the Tigers hadn’t faced all season.

Tigers tame Savages 48-0 in Round One

Cushing to face Blanchard in quarterfinals Round one of the OSSAA 4A state football playoffs is in the books, and to those who said Cushing’s never been tested, head coach Rusty Morgan and the Cushing Tigers made a definitive statement Friday when they shut out the 7-3 Broken Bow Savages, 48-0.
