Austin Munday Munday’s quickness in the defensive secondary gave the Cushing Tigers a weapon and opposing teams a reason not to try and throw the ball. “You’re not going to enjoy every minute of the journey, but the success you’ll find at the end will make it all worth it.

Historic Tiger season ends in Wagoner

For all but one team in every high school football playoff bracket, the season will end with a loss. Such was the case for the Cushing Tigers, who ended their 2020 season with a 14-40 loss to Wagoner and fi nished with 9-4 record. Don’t let those numbers fool you.

Tiger Senior Tristan Jackson holds back emotion as his season, and high school football career, ends Friday, in Wagoner. The Tigers fell to Wagoner 14-40, in the state championship semifi nals, making a playoff run that was much deeper than expected when the season started Sept. 4.
