Payne County Arrests

The following individuals were booked into the Payne County Jail from Sept. 9 - Sept. 14. They are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Drumright Cruise the Hill event this weekend

DRUMRIGHT — It is time to prepare yourselves for the roar of engines and the spin of wheels as the second annual Cruise the Hills event, hosted by members of the Drumright Area Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sept. 21.

Day of Caring Thursday

CUSHING - Day of Caring for United Way again will be Thursday, Sept. 19.According to Cushing Coordinator Latina Simons, breakfast will be served around 7:30 a.m. at the youth center and work will begin at 8 a.m. on projects.

Commission seat elections coming up

CUSHING — Seats three and four of the City of Cushing Commission will be up for grabs in the near future. As office three holder Steve Orton and office four holder Nancy Dowell reach the end of their terms the two positions are slated to be placed on an upcoming election ballot.

Earl Cates: A life of business, luck, renters, and goats

CUSHING - Born in 1926, Earl Cates is a member of the Greatest Generation alongside Mother Theresa, Ronald Reagan, and Jesse Owens. He celebrated his 98th birthday Saturday, Sept. 14 with friends, family, and goats.
