OSSAA rule harms student athletes

Each year, parents across Oklahoma pay for their children to attend sports camps. Those parents may be surprised to learn that the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) now treats attendance at those camps as an excuse to ban some students from playing any sport for a year.

145th Army Band Offers Public Performance at the Oklahoma History Center Museum

OKLAHOMA CITY – The 145th Army Band, also recognized as the “Governor’s Own,” will play a public concert on Saturday, October 26, from 1-3 p.m. at the Oklahoma History Center. The band will play selections including jazz, show tunes, classics and patriotic music.

OKLAHOMA CITY – House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, released the following statement after the State Superintendent announced at today’s State Department of Education meeting that OSDE will request $3 million from the legislature to fund bibles in public school classrooms.

Red Cross to host training for volunteers

Shelter workers needed now for Hurricane Helene, more needed for future disasters STILLWATER — The American Red Cross Northern Oklahoma Chapter is holding a shelter academy this week in Stillwater to train additional volunteers for hurricane relief efforts and other disasters.
