DRUMRIGHT - The inaugural Cruising the Hills car show and cruise hosted by Drumright Chamber of Commerce is set for this Saturday, Aug. 19 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is a $20 registration fee for the event.

Engleman appointed Creek Treasurer

SAPULPA - The Creek County Board of Commissioners Monday appointed Rick Engleman as the new County Treasurer, who replaces Don Engle, who recently passed away. “Rick Engleman is currently the chairman of our excise board.,” said District 2 Commissioner Leon Warner.

Smoke from structure causes alarm

CUSHING - On Monday, August 14, Cushing Firefighters responded to a report of smoke inside a house on the 1100 block of East Fourth St., according to Fire Chief Dalton Novotny. The alarm was reported to have sounded at approximately 10:24 p.m. — department members were on scene within five minutes.
