One dead in crash near Stillwater

STILLWATER — A Stillwater woman died and two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision early Feb. 21 on U.S. 177 about three miles north of Stillwater, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.The crash occurred around 6:19 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 177 and Gunsmoke Road in Payne County.

Cushing leadership approves demolition of vacant buildings

CUSHING — During a special joint meeting of the Cushing Hospital Authority, Cushing Industrial Authority, and Cushing Education Facilities Authority, city officials approved bids to demolish two vacant structures near the hospital — clearing space for potential future development.

Sex offender charged with residence violation

STILLWATER — A 38-year-old man on probation for lewd acts with a child has been jailed on $10,000 bond pending a court appearance this week on a charge accusing him of a residence violation by living across from Cushing High School.

Wings of Hope awarded $50,000

CUSHING – Wings of Hope in Cushing has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office to help fully launch its certified Human Trafficking Service Provider program.The funding is part of a $1 million statewide investment announced Feb.
