County opens bids for Mounds sewer main

The Creek County Board of Commissioners Monday opened bids for a sewer main and lateral lines replacement for the Town of Mounds utilizing county AARPA funds. “We received three bids, and we will award the bid at next week's meeting,” said District 2 Commissioner Leon Warner.

The official swearing in ceremony for Nancy Dowell to seat four took place during the regular City of Cushing Board of Commissioner's meeting held on Monday, May 15. In addition, Jonathan Walker was also sworn in as an officer to Cushing Police Department.

FAA Grant returns to the board

All consent agenda items listed for the regular meeting of the City of Cushing Board of Commissioners on May 15 were approved following a brief discussion of a Federal Aviation Administration grant for the Cushing Regional Airport.

Regular School Board meeting held

The Cushing Public Schools’ Board of Education members met for their regular meeting last week on May 9. A number of resignations, employments, and yearly procedural items were discussed. The board went into executive session to discuss eight resignations and seven faculty employment options.

Payne County Expo Center to host cat show

Fancy Cats will be competing for prizes at the Payne County Expo Center Saturday May 20th. The cats, representing more than 40 breeds and household pets, will be on display from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
