Cushing Residential Fire cause undetermined

A residential fire occurring at 1339 East Maple Street in Cushing on Aug. 27 has resulted in a projected loss of $3,000. The cause of which was reported as undetermined by Cushing Fire Department Captain Mark Beitz.

At statehood, there were 97 total school districts in Payne County, according to Wright’s presentation. A handful of these 97 districts were “Independent Districts” controlled by cities and towns while the rest were rural “Dependent Districts” to be funded and maintained by Payne County government.
