The Ripley Former Students and Teachers Organization recently awarded $1200 scholarships to six 2022 Ripley High School seniors. Recipients are from left: Marlee Lowe - Chuck McKnight Memorial Award; Karsten Spiva - Bruce Blakley Memorial Award; Ashlynn Huston - RFST Award; Harli Cundiff - RFST Award; Jesse Morris - Bob Mitchell Memorial Award; and Kailee Harting - Margaret Williamson Memorial Award. Presenting the awards was RFST President Bobby Simma.

Judgement to be determined for Glencoe man

A Glencoe man is awaiting judgement following a court continuance issued on August 11. Two counts of lewd molestation, one count of rape, and one count of forcible sodomy was filed against 44-year-old Bobby Lee Hankins Jr. on July 15 following being booked into Payne County jail on July 12.

The final Board of Education meeting for Cushing Public Schools before the beginning of school was held on Tuesday, Aug. 9. During the meeting procedural matters to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year was discussed and approved, according to CPS Superintendent Melissa Amon.
