Letter carriers stamping out hunger

It’s that time of year again. The 30th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is set for Saturday, May 14. The event, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), is the country’s largest single-day food drive. The drive is hosted by local letter carriers.

$9.5 Million of ARPA to be used for Countywide radio

The countywide radio system which has been on the Payne County Board of Commissioners meeting agendas for several weeks was put to a vote on April 28. The board approved the request on a vote of 2-1, according to District 2 Commissioner Zach Cavett. “Two voted yes and I voted no,” said Cavett.

Tornado whips up damage near Ripley

What meteorologists are calling a strong F-1 tornado lashed across about a quarter mile of land Wednesday, destroying a pair of mobile homes, three garages and several sheds south of Ripley Monday.
