For at least two months, a number of business owners in the Broadway District have raised concerns to city offi cials about drivers running the four-way stop lights at the intersections of Broadway and Harrison and Broadway and Cleveland.
Ripley Mayor Delpha Whitfi eld and Our Daily Bread Executive Director Rachel Condley cut the ribbon offi cially opening the volunteer and donation based Ripley Market at the community center last Thursday, July 7. Other volunteer and community members pictured include Charene Webb, Courtney Lord, Nancy Eytcheson, Toby Diner, Kali Barnes, John Moran, Magan Low, and Terry Rodgers.

The grand opening of the Ripley Market, as an extension of Our Daily Bread - Payne County in Stillwater, took place last Thursday, July 7 at the Ripley Community Center.

The 138th Fighter Wing is one of nine Air National Guard bases chosen to receive upgraded, fifth-generation radars for the F-16 Viper. These upgrades are part of a project known as Post Block Integration Team, which is one of the largest modernization eff orts in the history of the U.S. Air Force.

Fire crews busy over holiday weekend

Firefighters with the Cushing Fire Department were busy this weekend with several grass fires and a house fire on July 4, plus an RV fire last week. According to Lieutenant Chief Dalton Novotny, a call came in to dispatch at around 10:25 a.m. that a motor home was on fire at 224 E Vine, in Cushing.
