Dancing with the Cimarron Stars, the Downtown Cushing Revitalization Association’s biggest fundraiser, is scheduled for 7 p.m., this Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26 at the Cushing Community Theater, at 105 E Broadway, in Cushing.

Cushing Public Schoolsl Choral Director Belinda Flynn was awarded the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OkMEA) Exemplary Teacher Award recently. She was honored the OkMEA Winter Conference, at the DoubleTree in downtown Tulsa.

Payne County Burn Ban in Affect

The Payne County Board of Commissioners’ voted to approve the continuation of a burn ban which was originally enacted in January. The burn ban resolution will be effective until Feb. 21.

Fatal accident on Turner Turnpike

A hit-and-run fatality collision occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 2, on the Turner Turnpike westbound just west of the 183 mile marker in Stroud according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Injury accident near Perkins

An injury collision occurred Friday, Feb. 4, northeast of Perkins on Prairie Rd. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol. A Chevy pick-up truck driven by Kyle Hornberger, 36, of Perkins, and three other passengers was traveling southbound on a snow packed Prairie Rd.
