According to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Matt Stacy, on Monday, April 25, a fatal collision occurred on northbound US-177 half a mile south of Stillwater.

Elderly men drown at Keystone Monday

Two elderly men drowned at Keystone Lake Monday when their boat capsized about a mile east of Cowskin Bay Ramp, 40 feet north of the south shore according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Marine Enforcement Division. The drowning occurred at approximately 4:55 p.m.

Structure Fire South of Agra

A structure fire at 310 South Agra Road took place on April 12 around noon. Cushing Fire Department members, Payne County Sheriff officers, and emergency management personnel were seen on site. According to CFD Chief Derek Griffith, Agra Volunteer Fire Department was also called for mutual aid.

US-177/Perkins Rd. becomes four-way stop at Knotts Ave. in Stillwater

The intersection of US-177/Perkins Rd. and Knotts Ave. in Stillwater will become a four-way stop Thursday through fall 2022 as part of an ongoing highway reconstruction project. Northbound and southbound US-177/Perkins Rd. remain narrowed to one lane in each direction between Hall of Fame Ave.

Routine Matters Approved during recent Payne County Commissioners’ meeting

Routine items listed on the April 11 Payne County Board of Commissioners meeting agenda included resolutions, agreements, and renewals. Each item was approved at the meeting including a project application for District 3, according to District 1 Commissioner Zach Cavett.
