May was a wonderful, busy month in the Broadway District. Started on May 1st with the Cushing Community Theatre presenting a production of “Sweet Delilah Swim Club”.

Honor Roll correction

In last week’s Cushing Middle School Honor Roll, we inadvertently left out the name of eighth-grader Caleb Joshua Martin, who was named to the principal’s honor roll for the 20- 21 spring semester. The Citizen apologizes for the error.

Rainy Day Recycling

Cushing Pride hosted the first Replenysh recycling event on Sunday, May 23 in the parking lot of the Cushing High School ag barn. From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Cushing Pride volunteers stood under a canopy while raindrops sprinkled from above waiting for participants to come through.

Lachenmeyer offering classes

The Lachenmeyer Arts Center is providing classes for kids and adults during the summer. Preschool ages will have a three-week class starting June 11 or July 9, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., free of charge. Kindergarten through fifth grades have fourweek classes with a $5 fee.

Tip of the Week

Check your six. When zipping down the highway or puttering around in town, watch your mirrors. Be situationally aware. Knowing what’s going on behind you as well as in front is a good way to avoid trouble.

Date night at the Dunkin Theater

The historic Dunkin Theater located in the Broadway District has opened its doors to the public once again, with a few new features but keeping the same vintage charms that made so many fall in love with it from the start.
