I would like to preface this column by stating that al the below ramblings are based solely on my opinions and experiences. I have always been a sickly person. Ever since this pandemic started, I have been sick on multiple occasions with multiple illnesses.

COVID-19 Update

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, as of Monday, Jan. 18, Oklahoma has 43,163 active cases of covid-19. There have been 335,247 total cases since testing began, with 289,309 recovered and 2,775 deaths attributed to the virus. Creek county has 665 active cases.

Agra man seriously injured in accident

A 19-year-old Agra man was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident Sunday on SH 18, north of Chandler. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Caleb Scott, Dillon Ray Potter, of Agra, was driving a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon on SH 18, about 4.5 miles north of Chandler at around 5 p.m.

State Rep. committee assignments made

House of Representatives committee assignments and schedules for the 58th Oklahoma Legislature were made Friday and House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, assigned Representative John Talley to serve on four committees.

WTI $52.20 — 4 p.m. Monday From oilwatch.com The oil price rally fizzled early Monday as the U.S. dollar strengthened, while China further restricted movement amid a surge of new COVID cases, prompting renewed concerns about oil demand. As of 4 p.m. Monday, WTI Crude prices were $52.20 a barrel.

County sells Cushing property on Katy

The Payne County Commissioners Monday approved the winning bid for county owned property at 307 West Katy in Cushing. The Commissioners approved the bid of $100 for the property, said District 1 Commissioner Zach Cavett. “The property has sold,” Cavett said.
