The second half of 2020 was a continued series of ups and downs as we all tried to cope with the realities of COVID 19, and retain as much normality in our lives as we could.

Oilton chief resigns

Allegations of domestic violence have led to the tentative resignation of Oilton Police Chief Carl Stout according to documents obtained by the Cushing Citizen Monday.

One dead and one injured in car crash

A Drumright woman is dead after car crash on Norfolk Rd. On Saturday, Jan. 9, Felicia Bradley, 35, of Drumright was driving with Christy Lowe, 34, of Drumright. According to a release from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Bradley and Lowe were traveling southbound on Norfolk Rd.

Library software upgraded

Last week, the Cushing Public Library completed a software upgrade which has brought all the library’s systems to full automation.

Oh Yes, 2021 is here!! It is going to be a good new year. The fi nal of the Street Scape for the Broadway District has been presented by the Architect Robert Shears and soon we will have a hard copy to mull over and think about the projects within the Street Scape design that we might be able to do.

Inhofe sworn in for 177th Congress

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) released the following statement after being sworn in as a United States Senator for Oklahoma for the 117th Congress yesterday. “I am extremely humbled to be chosen by my fellow Oklahomans to represent them for a new term in the 117th Congress.

Payne County Fair Board election in February

The election for the directors of the Payne County Fair Board members will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021. One Director will be elected from each of the three Payne County Commission districts. Candidates must be a qualifi ed elector of the district he or she seeks to represent.

COVID-19 Update

The Oklahoma State Department of Health says that, as of Monday, Jan. 4, it has administered 50,330 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and it has received 174,900 doses since they became available earlier this month.
