As of 11 a.m. Monday, the Oklahoma Department of Health reported that Payne County, as a whole, is reporting a total of 2,275 cases since testing began with seven deaths and 1,932 recovered, meaning that there are 336 known active cases in the county.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, Charles Whittom, representing the Cushing Genealogical Society, presented the Cushing Public Library with a check for $900 to support repair of the library’s microfi che machine. The donation included $200 from an anonymous donor.

On Friday, Sept. 18, agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics eliminated approximately 1,000 marijuana plants from what they deemed to be an illegal growing operation on several wooded acres near Depew and authorities suspect it could have been run by Mexican traffickers.
