City of Cushing, Payne County reach road paving agreement

The Payne County Commissioners approved a road paving agreement with the City of Cushing during its meeting Monday. District 1 Commissioner Zach Cavett said the City of Cushing will reimburse Payne County $45,000 for the completion of a paving contract that intersects at Little and Eseco Road.

S.H. 33 intersection upgrades underway

Partial road closures along Main Street in Cushing are expected to impact vehicle traffic and businesses for at least two months while improvements to the intersections at Little and Main and Linwood and Main get underway.

WTI - $36.16 Oil prices climbed to a three month high Tuesday, in anticipation of an agreement later this week among the members of OPEC+ to extend production reductions. WTI gained 72 cents, climbing to $36.16 a barrel late Tuesday, while Brent crude was trading at just over $39 a barrel.

Cushing Main Street Farmer’s Market to open Thursday

The Cushing Main Street Farmer’s Market will open June 4 at the south end of the Atwood’s parking lot at 10 a.m. and will close when we are sold out. We should have fresh tomatoes and other winter products. We will open each Thursday at the same time until late September.

Oklahoma Legislature Adjourns Sine Die

The 57th Legislature has officially wrapped up! Although we finished our business early, we did not officially adjourn sine die until May 29. “Sine die” is a Latin phrase that means to adjourn an assembly without assigning a day for a further meeting.
